Memorial services for Sandra Thumann, 69, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Saturday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary. Private family Inurnment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Sandra passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at her home in Davenport.Sandra Kay Vogt was born on February 9, 1943 in Davenport, the daughter of Norman and Marjorie (Newberry) Vogt. She married LaVerne Thumann on May 18, 1960 in Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1999.Sandra never knew a stranger and will be long remembered for her quick smile, lively conversations, and warm heart. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, going to garage sales, gardening, cooking, and baking. She absolutely loved animals and was a caregiver to many, with four legs or two. Through her over 22 years in the Cardiac Rehab organization, the bonds of friendship grew to become like an extended family. Survivors include her daughter, Margo (Perry) Vaughn of Moline, IL; son, Joseph (Debra) Thumann of Clinton, IA daughter, Tracy Thumann of Davenport, IA; son, Marc (Kelly) Thumann of DeWitt, IA; 5 grandchildren: Stephanie (Dillon) Burke, Ryan Thumann (Jennifer Sampson), Jacob Thumann, Gabrielle Thumann, and McKenna Schlickman; 1 great grandchild: Addison Burke; a brother, John (Nancy) Vogt of Waupaca, WI, and a sister, Yvonne Sue Vogt of Waupaca, WI, and many dear friends and neighbors.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVerne, and brother, Norman “Butch” Vogt.
