

Sharon Sue (Chamberlin) Ziegelbein, age 83, of Davenport, IA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at her home in the Davenport Lutheran Home Independent Living Apartments after a long illness.
She was surrounded by her devoted husband and several of their children. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Davenport Lutheran Home, with her nephew, Stephen Niermann, officiating.
Sharon was born on June 15, 1942, in Boonville, Missouri, to George and Mary Chamberlin. She graduated from Boonville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri. Sharon enjoyed helping her father on the farm where she grew up and carried that love of outdoors and family throughout her life.
While attending college, Sharon met the love of her life, Paul Ziegelbein. They were married on June 5, 1964, and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the following year. Sharon taught mathematics in the Marion and Cedar Rapids school districts and later at Kirkwood Community College. Paul worked as an engineer at Collins Radio Company (Rockwell Collins).
In retirement, Sharon found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren and especially loved water sports and family gatherings at Table Rock Lake.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Paul; the four children they were blessed with: Kurt (Kelly) of La Crosse, WI; Paula (Tony) Carosielli of Chicago, IL; Mark (Carrie) of Plano, TX; and Joel (Ann) of Bettendorf, IA; nine grandchildren - Ben, Jake, Abby, Sam, Noah, Emma, Johnny, Elliana, and Sylvia; and her sister, Nancy
(George) Shull. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Phyllis (David)Snider; and her brother, John Chamberlin.
