Sherry Lynn “Sher Bear” Mayberry, 49, passed away Sunday, June 9th, 2019 with her family by her side at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House after a brief illness. Private family services will be held. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

She was born March 7th, 1970 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport to Louis and Joyce Johansen. Sherry graduated from West High School and was united in marriage to Greg Mayberry in June 2018. She worked passionately as a Medical Coder for over 25 years.

Sherry had a very giving heart and enjoyed traveling and tending to her garden. She loved being a grandmother, her young granddaughter, Norah was the light of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Greg; her mother, Joyce of Davenport, IA; her son, Matthew (Kristin); and granddaughter, Norah of Minneapolis, MN; her brother, Mark (Lori) of Calamus, IA; along with an abundance of family and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father and her paternal and maternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in order to obtain a Remembrance Plaque at the hospice in which she was taken care of with compassion and love.

Prayers of comfort and peace to Sherry's family. She was the kindest, sweetest gal. I am thankful that I was able to see her randomly last fall at Hy-Vee and gave her a big hug. She always made me smile. My heart is broken for you all.
