Shirley Louise ()Hanford Allchin

Hanford. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1953. She married Marlin Goodrich Allchin June 12, 1954., he preceded her in death on March 31, 2020. The couple welcomed 5 children into

their home. Shirley worked and retired from Occidental Chemical in Buffalo, Iowa.

Shirley was a member of the New Era Lutheran Church in Muscatine County. A dedicated member of the community working for over 20 years on Meals on Wheels in the Muscatine area. She enjoyed

retiree luncheons, trips with friends to Alaska, Branson, Nova Scotia, Martha’s Vineyard just to name a few. She also loved playing bridge, Farkle, bingo, and roller-skating with friends.

Shirley is survived by her children, Steve (Cindy) Allchin of Muscatine, IA, Terri (Rick) Schackle of Maricopa, AZ, and Kevin Allchin of Bettendorf, IA; Grandchildren Tyson (Summer) Allchin of

Columbus Jct., IA, Nichole (Brandon) Powell of Donahue, IA, and Danah Kleppe of Davenport, IA, Sean Allchin of Iowa City, IA, Connor Allchin of Davenport, IA, Jay Schackle of Maricopa AZ, and

Cory Schackle of Goose Creek, SC; Great-grandchildren Jocee Powell, Naomi Allchin, and Everett Allchin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children Keith and Tammi Allchin, and brothers Jim and Merrill Hanford.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 9 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory, 838 E. Kimberly Rd, Davenport, IA, with services at 2:00 pm. A private burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Muscatine Humane Society. The family would like to thank Addington Place staff for the love, care, and help they shared with Shirley.
