Shirley Dean, 85, of Davenport passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in hospice in Peoria, Arizona. Funeral services will be held 11 am on Saturday, December 8 at Christ's Family Church, 4601 Utica Ridge Road, Davenport, Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport. A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial. Shirley was born in 1933 in Davenport, Iowa to Harry and Gladys Schroeder. She married Norman Dean on April 15, 1955 in Independence, Iowa. Shirley was a registered nurse for several years at St. Luke’s Hospital and was also a member of the Lion’s Club, The Red Hat Society and Christ Family Church. She enjoyed dogs, sewing, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling and cooking. She also was a St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeye fan but her biggest joy was her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Norm of Davenport; Daughter Patricia (Tom) Kendall of Cedar Rapids, IA; son Daniel (Vickie) Dean of Waukee, IA; Grandchildren Nate, Natalie, Claire, Zach, Chelsea, Jordan and Ashley and 5 Great Grandchildren and her Sister Evonne Fisher Welp, Round Rock, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Rebecca McMillen.
