Shirley Frutiger

Shirley Frutiger, 93, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Senior Star Memory Care, Davenport, IA. Shirley was born June 4, 1929 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Rudolph and Amy Frutiger. Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Runge Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center or to the Davenport Public Library, Davenport, IA. Online condolences maybe expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Shirley graduated from Davenport High School in 1947 and from Maycrest College in 1952. She was employed at the Army Weapons Command, Rock Island Arsenal for 31 years and retired in 1984. She was a member of NARFE for many years. She enjoyed China painting and was a member of the Mississippi River Bend Porcelain Decorators Club. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends, and participating in library reading groups at the Davenport Public Library. She also volunteered at the Bettendorf Public Library. Survivors include nephews, Steven (Frances) Frutiger of Bettendorf, IA, David (Natalie) Frutiger of Davenport, IA, and Chris (Jane) Frutiger of Gilbert, AZ; and nieces, Leann Frutiger of Bettendorf, IA and Amy (Roger) Williams, Marthasville, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lila Hansen; brother-in-law, Bernard Hansen; brother, Donald Frutiger; and niece, Susan Hansen. The family would like to thank all the staff at Senior Star for their dedication and care that was shown to Shirley.
