Shirley Elaine Persinger

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, in the Runge Mortuary & Crematory Chapel, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Shirley was born on March 2, 1939, the daughter of George and Gladys (Griffin) Anderson in Minneapolis, MN. She was united in marriage to Tommy Persinger in Wichita, KS. After the family moved to Davenport she became an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Cindy was a person who always put others above herself. She was a loving grandmother who took care of all the grandkids. She loved Christmas as it was her favorite time of year, and Autumn as well. She had a fondness for cats, enjoyed visiting the casino, and was active in the Republican party. Cindy was an accomplished writer and poet, having been published in many magazines, letters to the editor, and for over 30 years was a columnist for “The Golden View” out of Dubuque, IA.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Joe) West and Tom (Janice) Persinger; grandchildren, Mathew, Amber (Paul) Miller, and Tyler (Dusty) Persinger; Step grandson, Chris West; great grandchildren, Finn and Ezra; along with her brother, Thomas Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Persinger and son, Brian Persinger, along with one sister and two brothers.
