Shirley A. Willis

Funeral services for Shirley A. Willis, 82, of Bettendorf will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the mortuary. Interment will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Willis passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Trinity Unity Point, Bettendorf. Shirley Ann Bierkamp was born on June 15, 1935 in Cedar Co, IA, the daughter of George and Velma (Gritton) Bierkamp. She was a graduate of Durant High School. On September 9, 1955, she married Ronald Willis in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1999. Shirley worked for Bell Telephone Company and at the Blackhawk Hotel before becoming a full time homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo every chance she could at CASI, the Friendly House, and with her friends from Thomas Place. Shirley was an active member of Grandview Baptist Church in Davenport where she was blessed to have a wonderful church family. She loved spending time with her children, and was known for spoiling her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is survived by Daughters: Faith Willis, Sandra Willis, Cheryl (friend, Bill Glydwell) Dau, Linda Willis, all of Davenport; Son: Ronnie (Betty) Willis Jr. of Davenport; Siblings: Ron (Judy) Bierkamp of Durant, IA, Robert (Annette) Bierkamp of Indianola, IA, Bonnie (Doug) Redfield of Pasco, WA; Step-Brother: Frank Novak of Davenport; 7 Grandchildren: Wesley (Mary), Ashley (Matthew), Freddie, Tia, Alesha, Zack, Corrie; and 16 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald Willis III, a step-brother, Richard Novak; and step-mother, Francis Bierkamp. Memorials may be directed to Grandview Baptist Church.
