Stacy R. Petersen, 55, of Davenport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals. Per her wishes she will be cremated. A family led celebration of life will be planned for summer 2022.
Stacy was born on December 2, 1965 in Davenport, to Edward and Arlene (Durham) Jennings. She married Tom Petersen, the love of her life, on June 23, 1984 in Bettendorf. They welcomed their two children, Craig and Krystal, who were cherished by her. Stacy was a homemaker and took great pride in caring and raising her family. She also worked as a school bus driver for Davenport Community School District for 13 years.
When her children were younger, she always had a house full of kids. She taxied them around, cooked meals for them and took them under her wing. Many of Craig and Krystal’s friends still call her mom, as she was always there and treated everyone as her own. Stacy had a heart of gold always giving everything she could. She often put others wellbeing before her own so they wouldn’t go without. Stacy loved with her whole spirit. She always made everyone laugh with her silly antics, as she always said, laughter is the best medicine. Stacy was always so understanding, strong and loving. Stacy enjoyed crafting and making such items as dream catchers, painting ceramics, custom cards and t-shirts for family and friends. Often those creations were gifted. She adored her family and her grandchildren. She spent as much time with them as she could. Stacy was a devoted wife, mother, gigi, daughter, aunt and friend.
Those left to honor her memory include her devoted husband Tom; daughter, Krystal (Brad) Petersen; grandchildren, Rydder, Breckin, Elizabeth and Alexis; brother, Rick Jennings; sister, Ronda Jennings; mother, Arlene Jennings; mother-in-law Cherry Petersen; father-in-law, Emil (Kay) Petersen and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Edward, son Craig, sister Sherri and beloved dog Goldie.
