He was born May 28, 1947 to Howard and Madge (Risinger) Morris in Denver, CO. On January 6, 1973 he married Debbi McClintock in Rock Island, IL.
Steve worked at Mid-American Energy for over 25 years before retiring in 2001. He loved tinkering in his basement workshop and in his garage. There wasn't much he couldn't repair. His greatest pride was in the garages he built. Calling the first and finest the Taj Mahal.
Steve faced some serious battles in his life but persevered and struggled thru them, becoming a better person having gone thru the experiences.
Steve loved his family. His greatest sense of accomplishment was in the role he played in raising his two daughters. He liked to say "we did good." Even though Steve and Debbi divorced in later years, they remained steadfast friends.
He is lovingly survived by his two daughters, Jessica (Scott) Kilker of Des Moines, IA and Lindsay Morris of Blacksburg, VA; ex-wife Debbi Morris of Davenport, IA; brother Jim (Carol) Morris of St. Mary's, GA; granddaughter Karsen Kilker; ex-mother in law Jackie McClintock; a niece and nephew and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and ex-father in law Wayne McClintock. A private memorial will be held. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
