

Steve was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many. He was an avid poker player who enjoyed collecting watches, fine bourbon whiskey, and caring for his cats. He loved his family and could always be relied on for an airport pick-up, a laugh, or a listening ear.
Steve graduated from the Missouri Military Academy in 2000. His classmates and fellow cadets were often in his thoughts. He was an alumnus of Drake University and lived in Des Moines for a time before returning to Davenport.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Day; grandparents, Melvin Day, Edna Day, Betty Burnet, George Burnet V, and Agatha Huepenbecker-Burnet; and his cherished aunt Elaine Burnet and aunt Barbara Hutchison.
Steve is survived by his numerous friends and family, including his father, Clifford Day of Davenport; his brother, John Day and his fiancée Dr. Jennifer Rose of Marion, Illinois; his uncles, Raymond (Vicki Martin) Day of Adel, George (Susan) Burnet VI of Cranberry Township, PA, and Larry Hutchison of Des Moines; his aunts, Kathryn Andre of Ames, Betty Jo (Mark) Smith of Albuquerque, NM, Joan (Joe) Bruns of Edmond, OK; and cousins, Elizabeth (Tim Plavish) Andre, Brian (Annie) Smith, Sharon (Andy) Grages, Sara Day, Christine (Curtis) Finklea, Aaron (Agnes) Bruns, Kaye (Issac Davies and Alex Wortman) Burnet, Michael Bruns, Dr. George (Dr. Carson Platnick) Burnet VII, Paul Bruns, Grant Burnet, Greg Burnet, Mark (Gail) Hutchison, and Lisa (Jeff) Wilkinson.
A visitation for Steve will be held on Sunday, November 16th at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Quad Cities, 3707 Eastern Ave, Davenport, IA 52807 from 1:30 PM till 3:30 PM with a Celebration of Life starting at 3:30 PM. There will be a reception to follow.
