

Steven John Jockisch, 56, of Davenport passed away September 11, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic, Iowa City. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made to www.TheRungeMortuary.com.
Steven was born November 22, 1957 in Beardstown, Illinois, the son of Jack Lee and Evelyn F. (Whiteside) Jockisch.
Steve had worked with Blacks Trasnport in Galesburg but was better known as a Christian musician playing at several local churches and throughout the Midwest.
He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church in Beardstown, IL and enjoyed playing Blue Grass with his friends. He also enjoyed playing checkers with his great niece, Geselle and going fishing and playing with his grandson, Skylar.
Survivors include daughter, Kristen Jockisch, Pearson, GA; son, Steven J, Jockisch, Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Skylar Shaw; mother Evelyn Quick, Davenport; stepmother, Lucille Jockisch; brothers, Rodney (Maria) Jockisch, Miami, FL and Michael Lee Jockisch, Meriedosia, IL; sisters, Dena K. Schafer, Davenport, Linda Scott, Lincoln, NE and Nanette Dillie, TX and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister, Susan Joinyer; stepfather, Donald L. Quick; and father, Jack Lee Jockisch.
