

Steven C. Nichols, 61, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Steve was born January 5, 1954 in Davenport; the son of Lafayette and Delores (Adams) Nichols. He was united in marriage to Jolene Cook on September 30, 1972 in Davenport.
He retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #25 after thirty years of service. He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and a retired member of the Ranch Riders Brotherhood. Steve also loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and coached softball and little league. He was an avid Hawkeye fan.
Those honoring his life include his loving wife of 42 years, Jolene ; his mother, Delores Williams; daughters: Jennifer (Darrin) Lawson and Tracy Nichols (Terrell Simmons); special nieces and nephews: Ecstasy, Alisha, Austin, Megan, Christy and Davina; daughter, Tonya Akright (John Blumer); sisters: Monica (Jeff) Calhoun and Carol Ann Murphy; brothers: Lafe “Mickey” (Shirley) Nichols, Damon Nichols (Kathy Rains) and Steven M. Nichols and his grandchildren: Hunter, Hannah, Quilin, Kaydyn, Trevon, Tayson, Tavian, Nathan, Logan and Tamra and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, step-mother, mother-in-law, Doris Cook; sister, Sydney and brothers, Dennis and Brian.
