I was blessed to have gotten to know miss suzy while she was at colonial manor and although her time there was short she was such an amazing person to be around. I looked forward to seeing her every morning and having our little chats. She had such a kind heart and beautiful soul. Although my heart is sad because of her passing I know she is no longer in pain. To her friends and family my condolences for your loss I know I am going to miss her greatly but will never forget her! Heaven has gained a very special angel. LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SUZY❤❤❤❤❤

My heartfelt sympathy sent to you, Chris, your children ,grandchildren, & all Susie's family. She was such an amazing, forward thinking woman. I loved her sense of humor and quick wit. Several years ago when we worked together at Heartland Place, she was such a bright spot at the front desk and all the clients just loved her. For years she organized us staying in contact/brunch. Our good friend, Kathy Andresen and I loved our visits with her in Columbus Junction and just a few weeks back at Hospice. She gave the best hugs ever! What a tremendous loss.😢

Adkins Family,
I’m so sorry that the world lost a little more sparkle. I spent countless hours at your dinner table, eating, laughing, debating, crying, philosophizing, you name it. Susie held court at that table. I learned so much from her. How to disagree without hate, how to stand for my convictions, and how to laugh with abandon. No one filled a room with laughter like Susie could. It rang in your ears, it rattled your toes and it made me proud if I got her going.
She will always have a special place in my heart, just like all of you.
Love, Steenie

Chris and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Susie's passing. I remember working on the PTO at Grant Wood when we were the only two that would volunteer to serve on the board. She was a real encouragement then and was always a big support. I always enjoyed seeing her as she was always a positive influence. She will be missed.

I worked with Susie many years ago at Heartland Place. I'm from Kentucky, Susie and I shared that special bond. Though I never met any of you, her family, I felt as if I knew you because of how much Susie spoke about all of you. She was so proud of her family and loved all of you to the moon. My fondest memory of Susie is her beautiful smile an infectious laugh. I am so grateful to have hooked up with her again on Facebook these last few years. Your family has my heartfelt sympathy and you will be in my prayers.

I'll never forget susie. She was a diamond in the rough and always was so kind and caring. I grew to love her deeply the small time I was able to know her.

Dear Uncle Chris, Matt and Elizabeth,
Please know that I’m holding you extra close in prayer as you navigate these unchartered waters. My last memories of your wife/mom was in your kitchen where she shared some photos of my dad, some happy memories about their childhood and of Grandma, and then spent the remainder of our time together talking about & sharing photos her precious grandchildren. She always hugged me with her whole being and planted a huge kiss on my cheek before we parted. She made me smile with her infectious laugh & jokes. And, her penmanship...I kept every card I ever received from her. I love you all & will continue to pray for healing. xoxo
