Susan L Hansen

Susan L. Hansen, 69, formerly of Eldridge, IA; passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, after a courageous thirteen year battle with cancer. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a private family service. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rock Island Public Library. Online remembrances may be shared at www.rungemortuary.com. Sue was born September 25, 1946 in Davenport; the beloved daughter of Jess and Bernadine (Uchtorff) Wanzel. She graduated from Davenport West High School, where she was a cheerleader and served on the debate team. In her younger years, she, and her brother, Bobby, wowed crowds with their tap-dancing routines. Sue earned many trophies for bowling and trap-shooting as well. She married Daniel C. Hansen on September 2, 1967; after 46 years of marriage, Dan preceded her in death on February 25, 2014. In her free time, Sue enjoyed going to the riverboats, rooting on the Chicago Bears and spending time with her family and her beloved Dachshund daughter, Millie, both of whom she loved very much. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Jamie (Jeff) Rosecrans and Angela (Daniel) Campbell; brother, Robert (Barb) Wanzel; grandchildren: Ryan, Sara and Jacob Rosecrans; grand fur babies: Oskar, Greta and Willis Campbell; brother-in-law, David (Joan) Hansen; sister-in-law, Dora Jean Hansen and five nephews and nieces. Her parents preceded her in death.
