A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, August 7, 2026, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time. She will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Susan was born on February 25, 1941, a daughter of Carl and Marion (Hennings) Bruning in Davenport, IA. She was united in marriage to Raymond C. Shubat on May 20, 1961, in Davenport, IA. Susan was employed for a short time at Davenport Bank as a teller before becoming a Full-time mother and housewife.
Susan enjoyed her family, she loved to cook and share food with others when in need. Over the holidays she loved hosting parties and getting the whole family together. She was also very talented at decorating, she enjoyed crafting flower arrangements and wreath making. Susan was also a fan of the performing arts, she spent good deal of time volunteering at the Adler Theater. She worked as an usher for over a decade making many friends along the way.
Susan will be deeply missed as a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Julie (Jeff) Adair; her Grandsons Ryan Adair and Cory (Molly) Adair; her Great-Grandchildren, Zoe, Kiah, and Brock; Son, Shawn Shubat and Family; along with many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Raymond Shubat, Parents Carl and Marion Bruning, Grand-daughter Melissa Adair, and Special cousins Joanne Conklin and Ronald Burke.
