Susan I. Spies

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, May 11, from 4-7pm at the Runge Mortuary. She will be laid to rest in Pine Hill Cemetery with a private family ceremony at a later date. Susan was born on September 8, 1952 to Andrew and Rose Marie (Wiese) Spies in Davenport, IA. She retired from RSM McGladrey after 36 years of service.

Susan enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ben (Stacy) Brummit of Davenport, IA; granddaughter, Remi Brummit; siblings: Betty (Richard) Rock of Maysville, IA, Barb (Jerry) Farmer of Wheatland, IA, Beverly (Ben) Johnson of Williamsfield, IL, Donna Spies of Davenport, IA, Herb (Sue) Spies of Wilton, IA, Shirley (Bob) Spies of Boulder, CO, Jerry (Joan) Spies of Wheatland, IA, Debbie (Gary) Clark of Wheatland, IA, and Linda Spies-Mason of Davenport, IA; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her significant other, Bill Brummit; and her parents.
