Terry Lee Matthews, 82, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital. Services to honor his life will be Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Runge Mortuary at 2 pm. Visitation will be from noon until the service.
His final resting place will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In honor of his wife, Rebecca, memorials may go to NAMI.
Terry was born in Davenport on January 25, 1944. He was the son of Wilbur and Catherine (Stropes) Matthews. He married Rebecca Glovik on December 13, 1969, in Davenport. She preceded him in death on August 30, 1998.
He worked as a production engineer for Litton Life Support for many years before retiring in 2000. He loved going to classic car shows, ceramics with his wife, and watching sports along with Old Western movies.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Rick (Deanna) Matthews, Bettendorf, Michael, Davenport and Connie (Gregg) Klotz, Greenville, SC; grandchildren: Cayla Farris, Lindsay Scalora, Amanda Matthews, Scott Klotz and Athena Coetzee; great grandchildren: Colten, Calianna, Serenity and Kelsey along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Terry was preceded in death by siblings, Donnie and Dick Matthews, Joyce Ricklefs and Shirley Gayman.
