Terry G. White, 79, of Davenport, IA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held later in the Spring to honor him, as we all know how he felt about the cold Midwest winters.
Terry was born on July 6, 1946, in Lepanto, AR, the son of Hugh and Velma (Trimm) White. He was the youngest twin son of 9 children; 7 boys and 2 girls. Even though they didn’t have a lot of money growing up, he always talked about how fun his childhood was and that they all had each other and he cherished that.
On November 12, 2013, he was united in marriage to Betty in Florida. They spent many winters in FL together with friends and family, enjoying their retirements by playing Euchre and Sequence.
He retired from John Deere Harvester after many years of service in the factory, and he worked as a Utility Man fixing everything and anything. He always told everyone his position at Deere was “See Me”…….see me go visit this guy, see me go visit that guy, his humor was one of his strongest characters.
Terry was an avid golfer, earning the nickname of “Super T” by his many golf buddies and his family. Directly following his retirement, when he was 49, he even got a job at the golf course so he could continue his passion every day and enjoy the beautiful greens and the FL sunshine. This was Terry’s happy place for many years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Betty White; step-daughters Richelle (Chris) Lorenz and Richawna (Randy) Atkins-James; daughter, Jennifer (Dennis) Adams; son, Jeff (Katie) White; sisters, Pauline “Polly” Plott and Esther “Irene” (Joe) Robinson; 7 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; 12 Nieces and 10 Nephews who all said “Uncle Terry was more like my older brother or Dad than an Uncle to me”. He was proceeded in death by his parents; and brothers, Albert, Max, Jim, Roy, Lester (Bunky), and
his twin brother Jerry. Donations may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
