The life journey of Theresa Kay Bribriesco Fuller came to an unexpected end on July 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and selfless devotion to others. Terry was vibrant and had a charisma that made her memorable to anyone who ever met her. Terry was a great judge of character, and she was fiercely protective of those she loved. If her family and friends were in need, she would show up and have your back.
Born on July 17, 1956, in Davenport, Iowa, to William Manuel and Antonia Guadalupe Bribriesco Granados. Terry was the definition of grace and grit. On February 2, 1980, she married her best friend and soulmate, Kirk Fuller. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep connection, enjoying 22 years of marriage before Kirk’s passing in 2002.
Family was everything to Terry and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her sons Garry and Chris, and grandsons, Alexander (Xander) and Aiden. Nani (as her grandsons called her) was their biggest cheerleader and fiercest protector. Nani was known to spoil her grandsons whenever she could.
Professionally, Terry served her community with dedication and integrity. She was a respected staff member at Bribriesco Law Firm and previously lent her talents to United Neighbors and the Iowa Department of Human Services. In every role she played, Terry fought for justice.
For over 25 years, Terry was a proud member of the Mississippi Valley Blues Society and played a key role in organizing the beloved Blues Festival — celebrating music, culture, and community in a way that brought people together year after year.
Terry also enjoyed Zumba and the time spent with her Zumba sisters. Terry’s laugh would bring a smile to your face. At a party, you could find her on the dance floor having a good time especially dancing with her brother Bill and sister Rita. Terry was also competitive and prided herself on being the first person to wish you a happy birthday. More than her accomplishments, it was her spirit that defined her. She was a go-to person in any crisis, a strong voice in uncertain times, and the life of the party. Her laughter was contagious. She touched lives in powerful ways —through generosity, loyalty, honesty and love.
Terry was resilient. Terry faced tragedies in her life, but she kept going, telling her obstacles to “bite me” as she lived life to the fullest. Terry showed us what freedom can look like. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt. She leaves behind a circle of family and friends who are better for having her in their lives.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mom, Antonia, her children Garry Fuller and Christopher (Kara) Fuller, siblings, Rita (Jack) Brautigam and William (Maria) Bribriesco, grandsons, Alexander and Aiden Fuller, Nephews, Alejandro (Brooke) Bribriesco, Anthony (Lexie) Bribriesco and Andrew (Jasmine) Bribriesco and great-nieces and nephews, Ava, William, Marissa, Caliana, Joaquin, Paloma and Camilio.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Manuel Bribriesco, Garry Kline, and Kirk Fuller.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29th at Weerts Funeral Home.
