Thomas A Krulik, 70, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Memorial service in his memory will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 10:30am at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday, December 17th from 4-7pm at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. Burial will at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials in Tom’s name may be made to Cancer Research or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Tom was born in 1948 in Moline, Illinois to Sylvester and Minnie Krulik. He graduated from Moline High School in 1967. Tom joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War; he received two Purple Hearts for his service. He worked at Kraft Foods as a machine operator for 31 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 26, the Red Catchers Association of Vietnam, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Life Fitness Center, he was a Charter Member of the National Museum of the United States Army, and the Vietnam Veterans of the Quad Cities Chapter 299. Tom loved to spend time outside, playing golf and fishing. He was a huge Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, in his younger years, Tom played Defensive End for the Quad City Blackhawks SemiPro Football Team and traveled all over Europe. He loved to spend time cooking delicious meals for his family, they were the most important thing to him.
Those left to honor his name are his wife of 37 years Nyla; his sons Kory (Jennifer), Brandon, and Andy; and his mother in law Leah Del Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Diane Baker; and father in law Wayne Wagner.
