Timothy Ersel Wakefield

Timothy E. Wakefield, 67, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in the comfort of his home. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Tim was born on January 21, 1951, to Clarence and Agnes (Saldaña) Wakefield in Centerville, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Sharla Crane on July 16, 1977, in Davenport. He worked for many years as a lab technician.

Tim was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later, the Army Reserves. Tim was also a handy-man who loved to watch old movies, especially about war and history. His family meant everything to him. He enjoyed spending time with his dad, eating breakfast together, and passing playful banter back and forth. His grandchildren lit up his face, and they enjoyed making paper airplanes together.

Along with his wife, Sharla, those cherishing his memory are his son, Charles (Katrina) Wakefield and two daughters, Angela (Jim) Bengtson and Jessica Thomas. Additional survivors include his grandchildren: Gwendolyn Wakefield, Michael Wakefield, Brannon Wakefield, Kirstin Bengtson, Soren Bengtson, Jace Thomas, Liam Thomas and Kaiden Thomas; one great grandson on the way; brothers, Larry Hernandez and Raymond Hernandez; and special nephew, John Hernandez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lena; twin brother, Thomas; and brothers, Eugene and Ronald.
