Todd Garstang

Todd R. Garstang, 68, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Todd was born July 22, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, to Richard & Elsie (Jorgensen) Garstang. He was united in marriage to Amy Nolan on May 12, 1979, in Davenport, Iowa.

Todd devoted more than five decades to his craft as a carpenter, a steady and skilled presence on job sites and in the lives of those who relied on his work. He was, at one time, a co-owner of T & L Construction for 20 years, and for the last 15 years he was with Olde Town Roofing—years marked by dedication, pride in a job done right, and a work ethic that spoke for itself.

Beyond his profession, Todd gave generously of his time and energy to the community he loved. He was one of the founders of the QC River Bandits host home program, served as the president of NW Little League, and was very active in the Davenport West High Booster Club—roles that reflected a deep commitment to supporting young people, strengthening local programs, and showing up faithfully for others.

A true sports fanatic, Todd delighted in collecting all kinds of sports memorabilia—cards, jerseys, hats, and more. His favorite teams were the Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals, largely based on the players they had, and he also loved to cheer for the Iowa Hawkeyes. In that enthusiasm was a simple, enduring joy: the pleasure of following the game, celebrating the teams he admired, and sharing that spirit with family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. The family requests that you wear your favorite sports team apparel to the visitation. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, in the Runge Chapel. Todd is survived by his wife, Amy Garstang, Davenport, IA; three daughters, Stacey (Ryan) Sheckler, Cedar Rapids, IA, Bridget Garstang, Davenport, IA, and Claire (Dustin) Stichter; seven grandchildren, Olivia (Spencer) Barnes, Ella Garstang, Brett Hedgecock, Jacob Stichter, Owen Sheckler, Emily Stichter and Evan Sheckler; one great-grandchild, Riley Barnes; a brother, Tim (Dixie) Garstang, Donahue, IA; a sister, Penny (Rick) Dresselhaus, Monroe, GA; and numerous extended family members

He was preceded in death by his parents.
