Vernon R. Chapman

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time at the Mortuary. Vernon was born on February 25, 1918 in Donahue, Iowa, the son of Harry and Hattie (Kingsfield) Chapman. He married Charlotte Thomas on June 29, 1951.

Vernon and Charlotte just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. He loved car races, fishing, camping, working in the yard, traveling and had visited 46 states. He was veteran of WWII in the Army/Air Corp in India.

Survivors include, wife Charlotte; sister Virginia Alger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Brei and Mabel Paul, and a brother Warren Chapman.
