

Virgil V. Arp passed away on December 18, 2025. Per Virgil’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf Iowa. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time. Virgil will be laid to rest with military honors at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.rungemortuary.com.
Virgil was born on November 5, 1937, in Davenport, Iowa to Rudolph Jr and Florence (Siebke) Arp. He was a 1956 graduate of Davenport High School. Virgil served his country in the United States Army for 3 years after graduation. He spent those years stationed in Germany. Virgil was united in marriage to Donna (Secoy). They have enjoyed many years together.
Virgil retired from Alcoa in 1993 after 31 years of service as the Davenport Works Quality Supervisor. He was a lifetime member of the Optimist Club, the Walcott American Legion and served on the Board of Adjustment in Riverdale Iowa. Virgil loved history, Cubs baseball, fast pitch ball, model ship building and solving puzzles. Virgil was very creative and innovative. He could create something from nothing.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Scott (Amy) Arp of Peoria Illinois, Dr. Eric (Kathy) Arp of Ridgedale Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Rudolph III (Marlene) Arp of Walcott Iowa; sisters-in-law, Nancy Beadel of Bettendorf Iowa, Barbara Arp of Texas; and many Arp and Siebke cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Arp.
