

Vivian Lucille Carlson, 95, of Davenport Iowa, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at The Kahl Home in Davenport. A celebration of her life will be held on September 27, 2014 (11:00 am) at Grace Lutheran Church, 1140 E High St, Davenport, IA. Vivian was born on May 14, 1919 in Swedesburg, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Hultman) Hult. She married Alfred L. Carlson; he preceded her in death. She graduated from Augustana College with a degree in music.
Music was a fulfilling part of her life. She enjoyed singing, listening and sharing music professionally and with friends and family. She worked for Fairmont School/ United Cerebral Palsy and the Volunteer Bureau of United Way. She was a life-long learner sharing her love of people, music, reading and nature, especially flowers.
Survivors include her children: William (Helen) Carlson, Waverly, IA; Elizabeth Carlson and Joanne (Doug) Toft, Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and a sister, Genevieve Anderson, Davenport, IA.
