Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded. The Runge Mortuary is assisting his family. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Wally was born January 12, 1939 in Quincy, IL. He was the son of Raymond and Myra Damhorst. He attended St. John’s Parochial School, and graduated from Quincy Notre Dame. He enjoyed returning to his hometown to visit with family and long-time friends whenever he could, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
A long-time car dealer in the QCA, he had many colleagues and friends in the industry. In retirement, Wally enjoyed working for LabCorp in Davenport.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Pamela, sons, Geoffrey, Bettendorf and Geordon (Kimber) and granddaughter Drew Damhorst, all of Iowa City.
His parents, son, Kelly and siblings: Roger, John and Joan preceded him in death. A private family gathering and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
