Walter John Schindler, age 79, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on July 20, 2026. Wally was born on August 8,1946 in Davenport to Walter K. and Ruth Schindler. He graduated from Concordia St Louis in 1972. Wally spent many years preaching at churches in Nebraska and Iowa. He will be remembered for preaching sermons, creating beautiful stained glass, his amazing garden and most of all his love for God and the care he gave his beloved mother. Wally is survived by his only daughter Rachel Wharton-El, Granddaughter Alexis Schindler, Grandson Tru Ward, His sister Ruth Ann (Denny) Walters, sister Carolyn (Richard) Brinkley, and many nephews and nieces. No services are being held at the request of Wally.
