Shannon, I remember you and your siblings. Your dad was the all nighter D.J. at K.J.R.B. radio station when we met. I was his first passenger the day he got his flight passengers licience. Please message me through Facebook if you read this.

When I was 3 years old, my dad Wayne Zemelka) worked at KHQ in Spokane, WA, as a TV news broadcaster. I stayed up late one night waiting for him to come home. When he saw me, my dad picked me up in his arms, gave me a kiss & said he loved me & I was “Daddy’s little girl”. I’m thankful for this memory of my dad. 
I’m Wayne Zemelka’s youngest daughter of 3 children. 

I was lucky enough to be on campus while Dr. Z taught and was very active. He was very caring, full of energy and LOVED to fly! He will be missed. Dr. Lisa Roth (WI)

Carol, my deepest sympathies.  So sorry to hear about Dr. Z's passing.  I will never forget all the flying time we had years ago while he was working on his instrument rating.  I enjoyed being the co-pilot of his plane.  He was a great friend and an excellent pilot!  Stay strong, you are in my prayers.

Carol and family, our deepest sympathy for your loss. Z was always bigger than life and I know he is missed by all who knew him. I wish we could have continued those monthly retirees' lunches; he presided over them like a king!

About a decade ago I worked with Dr. Z in connection with his lecture series sponsored by my employer. He was one of the friendliest and happiest people I have ever met, and I will always remember his gentle sense of humor. He will be remembered fondly.

Carol, you know Wayne & I go back 40 years and while we didn't often see each other I counted him among my good friends. Judy and I wish you the best and will pray for you, but remember we are still here for you even in Florida. Call me through the College if necessary, or come see us.

Carol - words cannot express how much we will miss Wayne in our lives.  He was a friend a co-conspirator for almost 35 years and we can't imagine a Quad Cities without him.   His fire may have passed but his spark will never be extinguished.  Thank you for loving him as you did, he was blessed, as we were to call him friend.

My condolences to Carol and the rest of the family. Dr. Z was a respected teacher. His enthusiasm for chiropractic and posture was appreciated.

Dr. Zemelka and I were friends since I graduated from Palmer in 1980. We taught and traveled together several times. I can still hear him telling a joke. I will miss his wonderful energy. I am so sorry for your lose Carol. Wayne touched many many hearts around the world.

The world has lost a great man and chiropractor.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Carol, and your family.  Dr. Z will be greatly missed, but remembered fondly.

Dr. Zemelka was an outstanding Doctor of Chiropractic.  I can say he was compassionate and articulate professor.  His interest in his clinical skills never stopped advancing and to those of us who were his students we are grateful to have had the honor of learning from him.  My condolences to his family. Wayne and I have been friends since we were students at Palmer College.  We worked together on a number of projects, and were members of the faculty.  Wayne introduced me to aviation with a ride in his Cessna 172, and inspired me to become a private pilot.  Although I now live in New Jersey, we kept in touch over the years by amateur radio--another common interest.

Wayne touched many lives as a teacher and a doctor.  He made a difference, and will be missed.

Carol, I am so sorry for your loss.  Even though I only got to work with Dr. Zemelka for a few months he taught me a lot and was always so kind.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Carol, I haven't seen you two in a couple years.  Dr Z was always amazing and no matter how long it had been, it was like yesterday for both David and I.  You were such a great presence at the office as well.  Both of you full of life, caring, giving, and just beyond words.  I am so sorry for your loss.  If there is anything you need, please reach out.

Wayne's passing makes me very sad. I had known him for several years in the late 80s and early 90s and always enjoyed his humor and friendship.  He was a "regular" call in guest on the Matt & McFadden radio show at that time and I know for a fact that he had many fans who loved his humor.  And what a voice he had too! Those were good times and though we had not had the chance to catch up and I did not stay in touch with him over the years, I will miss Wayne - or as we affectionately called him on the air, Dr. Z.
