Wendlyn O. Behrens Sr.

Wendlyn O. Behrens, Sr., 93, of Milan, Illinois passed away July 9, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Moline. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family or The Salvation Army Moline. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

He was born in rural Scott County on June 24, 1923 and served in the US Army during World War II. On December 27, 1947 he married Kathern Davidson in Rock Island. She preceded him in death in 2004.

Wendlyn retired in 1980 following 34 years of service at Farmall. His hobbies included bowling, playing horseshoes and cards and camping. His memberships included the The Salvation Army Moline and CB Loafers.

Survivors include sons and spouses: Wendlyn “Jr” and Betty, Clark and Ruth, and Douglas; 6 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson and a brother, Rollo. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Rita Kay Ferguson and Bonnie Jean Behrens, a son, Raymond; two grandsons and 8 brothers and sisters.
