Private family services will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Bill Beaman Sr. was born on November 27, 1939 in Christian County, IL to parents Mary (Jerden) and Miller Beaman. He attended Taylorville High School and went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961. Bill married Linda Grisham on October 27, 1962 and they spent 50 loving years together before she passed in 2012. In that time, they had two children and their family grew as the years went on. Bill worked over 26 years as an alarm service repairman with ADT Company, but he was a jack of all trades. In 1973, he moved the family to the country where he began a second career in farming. Bill retired from ADT in 1991 and spent a few years working for MA Ford, where he made some very dear friends.
Beyond his career, Bill embodied countless roles. He was a loving family man, husband, talented chef, shooting sports aficionado, Illowa Marine Corps League Member (where he served several years as Paymaster), handyman, neighbor, and a true friend. As any good farmer would do, Bill lent a hand to his neighbors, the Strobbe family, whenever they needed one and they graciously lent their help when he was in need. Later in his life, Bill reconnected with an old friend, Joanne Schadt and they enjoyed many years of companionship and adventures.
Bill brought his family together every Sunday for a home cooked meal. He was well known for making a mean roast beef dinner and fresh salsa. Most of all, Bill loved the time he spent with family. He found great enjoyment in taking the great-grandkids on tractor rides and sharing with them the simple pleasures of farm life. Some of his favorite holidays to bring the family together included Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
Bill’s memory will be carried on by his children; Jane (Russell) Hartwig, William (Diane) Beaman Jr.; grandchildren, Cassie Lowry, J.D. Jones, Grant (Miranda) Jones, Sam Hartwig, Amanda (Darren) Hess, Allen Hartwig; great-grandchildren, Breia, Jameson, Holden, Elsie and two siblings, Jack Beaman and Darryll (Beverly) Beaman.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; one beloved grandchild, Matthew and two siblings, Dennis Beaman and Barbara Bauer.
