A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1 pm at the All Vets section at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Folks that would like to take part in the procession to the cemetery are invited to gather at the Runge Mortuary at 12:30 PM. Memorials may be made in Bill’s name to Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter.
Bill served his country in the United States Navy and was a lifetime member of the VFW. On January 16, 1965 he married the love of his life, Sharon Hughes. He worked for 23 years at Caterpillar, following Dover Manufacturing.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon; children, Tamara Beaty of South Bend, IN, and John Carr of Dubuque, IA; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Karen) Carr; sisters, Nancy Adlfinger, MaryAnn (Mike) Puente and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pat Carr; sister, Sara Ihrig; brother-in-law, Frank Adlfinger; Bruce Carr and his beloved black lab, Billie Jean.
