Services will be Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 10 am at The Runge Mortuary. There is no visitation. His final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Scott County Humane Society.
William was born in Davenport on August 20, 1941. He was the son of William H. and Lucile (Adkins) Eye.
He owned and operated his own sewing and vacuum business for 23 years. Later, he worked at Sears for many years.
Bill was a member of the Oldsmobile Car Club and St. Mark Lutheran Church. He loved collecting and restoring classic cars and won numerous awards for his 1956 Belvedere. He was a lover and rescuer of cats over his lifetime providing them a safe and secure home. He was a good friend and neighbor and though he kept to himself, Bill’s neighbors would always check on him. He had a great sense of humor and made lots of friends from Pocket Change Park at the North Park Mall.
Those left to honor his memory include a sister, Mary Minteer, three nieces and several cousins. His parents and an infant sister, Phoebe Helen preceded him in death.
