William "Dusty" E. Rhodes

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Runge Mortuary at 12 pm. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services. Dusty will be laid to rest alongside the love of his life, Rose, at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemorturary.com

Dusty was born on July 6, 1938, in Hoopeston, Illinois, to William and Mary (Hasack) Rhodes. On May 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Rose Jager. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage until her passing in 2023.

Dusty was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was the neighborhood go to man for anything that needed done. He was always willing to help others fix their lawnmowers, cars and anything else that needed to be worked on. He enjoyed fishing, the Miami Dolphins, and the White Sox but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Dusty was a man of few words and an example of what a husband and father should be. He will be missed beyond measure, but the family finds comfort in the fact he is reunited with his love, Rose and daughter, Marcy.

Those left to cherish his memory include children, Tom (Val) Rhodes, Billy (Sherry) Rhodes, Rocky (Dawn) Rhodes, Nancy (Dave) Parrick, Ricky (Robin) Rhodes, Danny (Amy) Rhodes; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna; brother-in-law, Jimmy (Pam) Jager and special sister-in-law, Margie Jump.

Dusty was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose; daughter, Marcy; 4 sisters; nieces, Lori, Tammy; nephew, Todd; sister-in-law, Vivian and his best friend and brother-in-law, DuWaine “Pee-Wee” Jump.
