Karen was born in 1942 to James and Dorothy Rasley. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Washington High School. Karen made her home and raised her family in West Branch. She also worked at the U of I and retired after 32 years.
Karen had a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh. She enjoyed the Hawkeyes, playing bridge, going to the casino with friends, volunteering at her local library, baking, and reading.
Those left to honor her memory are her daughter, Linda (John) Lauritsen; son, Phillip (Steve Jetter) Fieseler; brothers, James (Jane) Rasley III and Richard (Alexis) Rasley; her niece and nephews; extended family; and many cherished friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
The family wants to acknowledge the amazing friends who supported Mom through her final journey. Words cannot express our gratitude and love.
A Celebration of Life is being held Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 2:00 to 6:00 at the Brick Arch Winery in West Branch. Memorials can be made to the West Branch Public Library, American Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
