Charles Garrie Harring born November 5, 1949 in Seattle and died October 21, 2015 at his home in Davenport. He was the son of Walter Garrie Harring & Donna Faye Benjamin. After 32 years in Boeing engineering he retired in Davenport. Chuck loved photography, cats, The Beatles, the great grand kids, old cars, racing, and guitars, not necessarily in that order. He collected everything, especially everything automotive.
Chuck started racing at the age of 5 when he and his sister Marilyn raced their tricycles on the Aurora Speedway track, where their grandfather was the groundskeeper. From about 1972 to 1980 he raced Evergreen Speedway at Monroe Washington. In his later years he was a member of Golden Wheels and exhibited race cars that he had purchased.
The picture here was taken at the Wilbur-Colfax football game on October 15. He is standing on tiptoe & stretching to the max in an attempt to be taller than his grand nephew James Gilchrist.
Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, his father, & his sister Marilyn Teachman.
He is survived by sisters Nancy (Dale) Dykeman, Marsha (Albert) Van Antwerp, his partner of 31 years Barbara Belala, step-daughters Kathryn Marquard, Suzanne Hall, Linda White, Sharon (Gary) Schultz, numerous nieces & nephews, 5 grandchildren, & 4 great grand children.
