Charles Wilke was born on September 28, 1935 in Davenport, WA to June and Ernest Wilke. He died peacefully after a battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, June and Ernest Wilke; sister Dottie Schauerman, brothers Jerry Wilke, Wendy Wilke, Jack Wilke and wife Marilyn Wilke. He was raised in Davenport, WA and enjoyed playing many sports, particularly baseball. He leaves behind his children Cindy Wilke-Hooper, Karen Schramm, Steve Wilke, Dan Wilke, Lizanne Wilke, Aimee Van Eysbergen, Ted Wilke and step daughters Marcie Johnson and Sheila Ray. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He retired as an engineer from the highway department for the state of Washington. He enjoyed traveling to visit his family during his retirement, as well as numerous country music venues, casinos, and golf destinations. He was an avid Seattle Mariners fan, rarely missing a game. The family would like to thank Providence St. Joseph’s Transitional Care Center and Hospice of Spokane for their compassionate care. A Service Celebrating his life will be held at the Chapel of Strate Funeral Home, 505 10th St. Davenport, WA on Saturday, October 4, 2014 with Pastor Jim Stern, Officiating. Interment Mt.
