

Clarence Lee Deel passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024 in Davenport WA surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Clarence was born in Indore, West Virginia on October 6th, 1935, to Clemon and Anna Deel. At the age of 15 he moved from West Virginia to North East Maryland where he lived with relatives. There, through school and work, he became friends with many Christians. He attended confirmation class in Maryland. Soon after, by the grace of God, he received living faith. He would often tell his touching story of how a boy from a small town in West Virginia was led into this wonderful Christianity. He remained a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and was free to confess his faith. Clarence served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and then in 1961 he married the late Karen (Hallstrom) Deel-Swenor, and they lived in Chatham Michigan. It was here they raised their 6 children. He worked in a variety of occupations, mainly in the maintenance and welding industries.
In 1994, Clarence married Sherry (Rich) Newton, and they lived in Atlanta GA. When Clarence retired in 2000, they moved back to Wilmington N.C. In 2015 Clarence and Sherry moved to Davenport WA. They lived in Davenport for the remainder of their lives. Clarence enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Clarence is survived by two brothers Edward and James, five sons Darryl (Rose) Deel, Jonathon (Rosalie) Deel, Wayne (Juliene) Deel, Gary (Jennifer) Deel, Matthew (Arlene) Deel, daughter Kristen (Phil) Berger, stepsons Carl (Karen) Newton, Brad (Valerie) Newton, Stanley (Claudia) Newton, stepdaughter Teresa (Gene) Raisanen with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
