Gary delivered the Spokesman Review to the entire town until he fell and fractured a hip on Christmas Day, 2010, yes, while delivering newspapers. Gary had enjoyed bowling in the past, horseshoes and darts. He especially enjoyed coffee in the mornings with the coffee group, and lunches in late winter at the Odessa Gun club. Happy 70th Birthday big brother! You have no idea how much I miss you already. We didn't see each other as much as I should have made time for, but we talked on the phone all the time. I knew that Kathy, Jerry, Jim Boss, & all of your many friends from Odessa were always looking out for you. I am so grateful to all of them. I know you must be celebrating your birthday today in heaven with Mom, Dad & Vicki. Please tell them how much I miss them too. I know how much you were looking forward to the Alumni Banquet this year. It was to be your 50th, my 40th, & Thomas' first. But God had other plans. I do trust him completely & just believe he could not wait one more minute to have you back at home with him. I cannot blame him for that.
So many memories, but some of the best from recent years were our Thanksgiving dinners in Odessa. I particularly liked them because since we were eating at Gary's I would always purchase prepared meals at Safeway that just had to be heated in the oven. There was no real cooking involved on my part which made it pretty easy & safer for everybody. Then the UNO games we would always play after dinner. Gary was such a good sport & made it so fun. He was not quite as lucky at UNO as he was at shaking dice. The best Christmas memory was not the Christmas we spent at Deaconess when Gary broke his hip, but Christmas 2016 when he came to Moses Lake for several days. My niece Shelly took what I think was the happiest picture I have ever seen of Gary. I hope everyone gets to see it. God Bless Shelly & Judy for inviting Gary over to stay with them.
Gary was loved by so many. I don't think he even realized how much. The town of Odessa will never be the same without him.

Gary you were a simple man, easy to please and honored by the town of Odessa for being the best News Master Deliverer for 30 years. You may have been teased growing up as a boy but you were respected by those that new you when you weren’t being stubborn and defiant 😜 You were the Juiceman of Odessa and it turned your life around healthy, happy and full of story’s, you made me crackup and laugh. You are now comfortable in you skin reunited with Gramma and Grandpa ❤️ Give them hugs and tell Vicki how much she is Loved and Missed 👑❤️💐
