Jack Dean McKinney (74) of Davenport, Washington passed away at his home, Wednesday evening, August 31, 2016. Jack was born into the Auburn, Washington home of Jack Dempsey & Ilene Gertrude McKinney on June 30, 1942. Following graduation from high school, Jack served his country in the United States Army. On January 26, 1963, Jack married Alice Broo at the Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw, Washington. Proficient in landscaping and construction, Jack was the proud owner/operator of Lake Tapps Landscape Supply as well as working out of the local Teamsters hall, anyone who had worked with Jack would testify that he could, work most people into the ground and a member of the Eagles in Ephrata, Washington and American Legion Post 28 of Ephrata, Washington. A member of the “Way Out Willy’s” Jeep Club Jack loved Four Wheeling; Jack’s four children have many white knuckled ‘fun’ memories engraved in their minds along Shoestring trail and others, such as teetering on the edge of a rock cliff while hearing Jack say, “No one breathe!” and being winched off of a muddy cat trail which was about to slide down the side of a mountain. Jack enjoyed camping, hunting and spending time in and around his boat. Jack was the self -described “Krylon King” due to his belief that any item could be made better looking with “Krylon” spray paint. Jack’s greatest love though was always spending time with his family, especially his Grandkids.
