My first memory of Jacque is of her and Olin when they were engaged and they already seemed like such a great married couple. I was honored to be a bridesmaid in their wedding and I have a special memory of Sharon's first birthday and of visiting Jacque in the hospital when Phyllis was born. After that I moved a thousand miles away so further memories are few and far between. But I shall always remember that no matter when we had a chance to get together, Jacque always made me feel that she was glad to see me. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special. And as an auntie, I am so thankful that she was such a wonderful mother to Sharon and Phyllis. Love and blessings to you both ... Auntie Elaine

From Myrna Wolsborn - “I loved the way your mom’s eyes would sparkle & light up the room when she smiled and/or laughed. I enjoyed her dry sense of humor. Between teaching and her music, and her life, she enriched the lives of many people.”

- Thank you for your letter about your mom, and I am seriously so sad to hear of her passing. Although I hadn't seen her in decades, she held a special place in my heart. I remember the times I visited you in Odessa, and how friendly and welcoming she was. I still remember her talking with you about reading Green Dolphin Street (for at least the second time) and how you and she shared that common love. I have always thought it was so wonderful that you and Phyllis and your mom loved each other so very much. You really had the warmth and depth of love that defines a true family. What a blessing that you and Phyllis had such a strong and loving mother! I am imagining the hole in your lives right now, and my heart is aching for you. I will be in prayer for both of you as you face the next season of your lives. I hope you had a reasonably peaceful Easter today. Your mom's first Easter in Heaven! Just imagine her rejoicing! love, Peggie Copple Venemon

- I am saddened to hear of your mother's passing away. While it has been a long time since I saw her last, your visits over here kept me up to date on her through the years. Much appreciated! My thoughts and prayers will be with you at this time. from Myron Thompson
- With deepest sympathy at the loss of your precious mother. Thank you for sharing her with me! Love, Rickie Haase
- I am very saddened to hear of your mom's passing and greatly appreciate that you included me in those to whom you reached out with the sad news. Jacque Eide holds such an important place in the history of Odessa and in the lives of all of us who were guided and gently inspired by her intelligence, her sly wit and her strong work ethic. It has been gratifying to see how devoted you and Phyllis have been during your mom's last years, making every effort to ensure her comfort and dignity as life became more difficult. I can't help but picture her sitting next to Mary Louise in Heaven's Schoolhouse right now, proudly marking a big fat A+ at the top of your report card! You are in my thoughts, Sharon. Please pass on my condolences to Phyllis. I look forward to seeing you this summer. With love, Steve Horak
- Some wonderful moments and wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing your mom. In God's love, Leslie and Steve Fink; Drew and Lauren

more memories from the Eide cards:
- Both of you girls took such good loving and special care of your mother through the years. She was proud of each of you and all your accomplishments. Have good memories of Jacque teaching in Odessa. She was a good and caring teacher for every child. I remember the many years when I would drive past and Jacque would be sitting on the front porch and would always wave. Sometimes I would stop and we would have a good visit. I remember the days when she played at church (being carried on now by Sharon). She was very gifted. Loved the times together at the Odessa Swimming Pool during adult hours. Jacque is at peace now with our Lord with many friends and relatives and one day we will join her! Love, Marilyn Fink
- We have such fond memories of your mother. God bless you both. Our love, Dave and Janie Steward
- My daughter Sheri said your mother was the kindest teacher in her 12 years of Odessa schools. She was a huge blessing to many souls and one of Odessa's saints. You were truly blessed and so were we. Love, Jerry and Barb Walter
- I was sorry to hear about the death of your mother. She was a terrific neighbor and person! She was kind, very charitable and had a terrific sense of humor. Some of her stories about people, events and her teaching career were especially funny! She always spoke well of you and Phyllis. She was proud of your many accomplishments and teaching careers. She'll be greatly missed! Everyone in Odessa spoke well of her, especaily those that had her as a teacher. Take care, Darrell Jantz

- Your mom was truly dedicated to the students of Odessa School District. Thinking of you, Tony and Pam Williams
- So many fond memories of your precious mom,

both as my favorite school and Sunday School teacher. Third grade with her floods my heart with wonderful memories! She is the kind of teacher we need again today! Always encouraging and patient with so much kindness. In my adult life we shared openly our love and faith in Jesus Christ. She was a special friend to Paul's mom as well down at their swim times at the pool. Our children ( 3 of the 4) had your mom as well and equally loved her. Our love and prayers are with you as you carry on without your mom here. God be your strength, guide, joy and ever-present help in all things! from Paul and Kerry Scheller and family
