James Everett Allen Jr.

Passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born in Spokane, Washington, on January 10, 1948, Jim dedicated his life to his faith, his family, his friends, and his community. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1966 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Washington State College. It was there that he met his college sweetheart, Elva. They were married on August 8, 1970, shortly after graduating, and moved to Wilbur, where they both accepted teaching positions with the Wilbur School District. Jim taught middle school English and social studies for seven years before leaving education to start his own business, Allen Construction.

Jim's greatest joy was his family. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and loved cheering them on in all of their activities. He loved competition in every form, whether on the golf course, the pickleball court, or around the card table with family and friends. Jim volunteered countless hours coaching youth sports, including Little League, Little Dribblers, and girls' softball, encouraging young athletes both on and off the field. He also gave back to his community through his service on the Wilbur Library Board and the Big Bend Golf Club, and he was instrumental in helping establish the Lake Roosevelt Pickleball Club.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Elva; his children, Jon (Raechel) Allen and Janelle (Michael) O'Connell; his cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Campbell, and Hudson; his sister, Caulene (Allen) Renbarger ; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara Allen.

Above all, Jim's life was defined by his unwavering Christian faith. He shared that faith generously with countless people, continuing to encourage and inspire others even in his final days. His steadfast love, strength, protective nature, and competitive spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the community he served, and the many lives he touched.

A Celebration of Jim's life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wilbur Community Church.
