Kathryn Marie Clark

Kathyrn Marie Clark, 76, passed away July 25, 2026, surrounded by her three children and son-in-law at her home in Wilbur, WA after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 9, 1949, to William and Laura Jones in Wilbur, WA and lived her entire life in the local area.

She graduated from Wilbur High School in 1968. While in high school Kathy enjoyed the Pep Club, drumming in the Pep Band, and journalism class. She was crowned prom queen her senior year.

In 1970 she attended Glen Dow Academy of Hair Design in Spokane, WA. After graduation, she returned to Wilbur and worked at the Magic Mirror Beauty Salon.

Kathy met Larry Clark in 1971, and they were married in December of that year. Together they became a modern-day Brady Bunch that blended their five children into a life sowing deep roots in the community. Kathy was proud that all five of her children graduated from Wilbur High School just as she had.

Kathy and Larry owned several small businesses over the years, Ernie’s Body Shop, Clark’s Sanitation, This N That Variety Store, and The Wilbur Lumber Yard. However, Kathy was most known for owning and operating Billy Burgers the last 33 years where she proudly displayed her famous salt and pepper shaker collection. Her kindness, dedication to serving her customers, and genuine conversations touched many lives. Her lasting legacy at Billy Burgers will continue on, as it will remain a family-owned business for years to come.

Kathy was a loving mother and homemaker. She brought her renowned pecan pie and Potatoes Romanoff to every family gathering. She was well known for her Special K Treats that she always made sure to send to her son Charlie when he was deployed. Her obsession with chocolate was second to none and she had told her daughter-in-law that she “couldn’t fall asleep without a piece of chocolate in my mouth”. There wasn’t a craft that Kathy couldn’t tackle and master. Sewing was her specialty; she sewed all her own clothes in high school and won the “best dressed” award because of her talent. She lovingly hand-crafted original themed quilts that match each of her family members interests and they remain treasured favorites for all her children and grandchildren. She stepped in and saved the day on many weddings, hemming and altering wedding dresses at the last minute for the stressed-out bride. She loved playing cards and was incredibly skilled and lucky! She also had the forethought to keep an official copy of Hoyle’s Rules of Games handy to ensure there were no arguments when she inevitably won. Many hours were spent on her garden swing reading with her faithful four-legged Golden companions by her side. Gonzaga Basketball was a passion and every year she picked one favorite player to be “her guy” for the season.

Kathy spent many hours reading to and playing board games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was affectionately named “Grandma Wallie” by her Granddaughter Callie, and the name stuck; soon all her additional grandchildren followed suit. She enjoyed attending local school sporting events, especially the Wildcat volleyball team. She purchased and donated the breast cancer awareness jerseys the team wore during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Kathy is survived by her children, Lori Ennis (Rick) Spokane, WA, Charlie Clark (Kellie) Chantilly, VA and Lacey Schrag (Matt) Wilbur, WA, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her loving husband Larry, her parents, 2 bothers Greg and Lonnie, a son Larry Gene, a granddaughter Cindy, and great grandsons Camden and Carter.
