I was not able to make the trip to honor Larry but I will carry the many fond memories of our time together at USCG Station Willapa Bay.  He was the Officer in Charge and I was his Engineering Petty Officer.  He told me when I reported aboard my job was to keep the boats running so when he hit the starter button it made smoke and noise.  I never failed him and he always supported me.  He was one of the easiest people to work for that I have ever encountered.  I counted him as my friend as we have kept in contact over the years and always looked forward to seeing each other at the Lifeboat Station Reunions.

Jason and I have many fond memories of Larry. He was Jason's bus driver for years.  He always asked about the family whenever I saw him, after Jason had left town. Our sympathy and sorrow to the family.

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing.  He was a great Mayor and an awesome supportive boss.  I pray that his family finds peace and that you sir, Rest Easy.

I offer my sincerest condolences. Larry met me while I was passing through Creston with the Vet Center's Mobile Vet Center. He was passionate about getting VA and state assistance for the area's Vet in the the Highway 2 corridor between Reardan and Cooley City. With his drive and fiery spirit we were able to work together to support the Creston community. I know this combat Coast Guard retiree will be surely missed. Rest in Peace sir.
