Marvel Robert Luiten

LUITEN, M. Robert (Age 93) –

Passed away January 8, 2021 in Davenport, WA his home Davenport, WA. Bob was born on December 3, 1927 in Rathdrum, ID to Jacob and Martha Luiten. The family moved to the Davenport area where Bob attended school and graduated from Davenport High School. Bob married Irene Reinbold on April 2, 1948 in Davenport, WA and they raised their four children until Irene passed away in 1994. Bob later married Phyllis Reed Stuckle on March 16, 1996 in Davenport and they continued to live there until his death. Bob was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lincoln County Historical Society and former MAC volunteer and Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking huckleberries, chopping wood, ice skating and learned to snow ski and travel. He was also an avid Gonzaga Basketball and Seattle Mariners fan. Bob is survived by his wife Phyllis at the home, four children Mike Luiten, Dale (Sally) Luiten, Wanda (Jim) Talbot and Jeff Luiten along with Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two step children Laura (Ken) Thayer and Gary Stuckle and one step grandchild along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his first wife Irene, six brothers Orval, Arnold, Ray, Harvey, Elroy and Orlen and four sisters Marlas Luiten, Florence Walker, Verna Beieler and Lillian Jablonski. A family graveside will be held at Mt. View Cemetery, Davenport, WA with a Celebration of life at a later date.
