Rosa "Rosie" M. Michaelsen

Passed away September, 2 2017 in Odessa, WA. Born in Odessa September 29, 1918, Rosie was a lifelong resident of the community. She was the 5th daughter of 7 girls, born to Conrad and Anna Margaret Schauerman. Graduating from Odessa High School in class of 1937, she was one of the oldest surviving graduated at the time of the 2017 reunion. Rosie married Henry “Heinie” Michaelsen September 23, 1941 and the couple was blessed with 4 children. The two were involved in and supportive of the town of Odessa for the next 55 years. They built the Circle M Motel and were instrumental in the founding and supporting of the Odessa Historical Society and Museum. Rosie is survived by her 4 children Carol (Jon) Evavold, Mary (Ken) Kirstein, Henry Dean Michaelsen, Margaret (Jack) Praetorius, 8 grandchildren, Jonna Evavold Skokan, Jessica Evavold Kelley, Joel, Jason, Gabe, Micah Kirstein, Michelle Praetorius Ovens, Jared Praetorius, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a step-sister Vinete Weber. Preceding her in death were her, parents husband Heinie, 6 sisters. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Saturday September 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Heritage Church, Odessa, WA with Pastor Jerry Malone, officiating.
