

Shirley A. Larson, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away July 9, 2025. She was born May 23, 1935 in Spokane to Emma and James Lennon. Shirley grew up in Davenport, graduating from high school in 1953. She worked in her mother's restaurant, the Lennon Cafe, during her school years. After high school graduation she attended Kinman Business University in Spokane.
Shirley began her banking career at Old National Bank in 1954 in Davenport. On April 10,1955 she married Donald Larson and moved to California while Don was in the Army. When in California, she worked for Bank of America. In 1957 they moved back to Davenport. Shirley resumed her position with Old National Bank, now known as US Bank, in 1960, retiring in 1993 after 32 years.
After retirement, Don and Shirley spent many years traveling periodically in their travel trailer. They visited Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and went on four cruises. Don and Shirley also spent 18 winters in Yuma, Arizona. When traveling became too much for her, they settled back in Davenport full time.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, James and Emma Lennon and two brothers, James and Robert Lennon. Shirley is survived by her husband of 70 years, Donald Larson, two children, Karlene Boyd (Carl) of Montesano, WA and Bill Larson (Jane) of Montclair, CA.
