Bill spent the last 9 years of his life battling the effects of early onset Alzheimer’s. True to his positive spirit and attitude, Bill continued to live his life never allowing Alzheimer’s define him. He went home to be with our lord and savior on Tuesday March 27.
Bill was born September 14, 1954 in Spokane to Joe and Vi Lilje. He was the youngest member of the four siblings, Jim, Randy and Kathi. The family lived and grew up in Davenport Washington. Bill loved living in a small town. He truly enjoyed competition and playing football, basketball and baseball, which he excelled at sports at Davenport High School. He achieved Eagle Scout ranking and graduated in 1973. He studied one year at Eastern Washington and turned out for the basketball and baseball team. He transferred the next year to Washington State University and graduated in 1977 in Zoology and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. After living in several cities in 1984, he decided to move back to Davenport and pursue his passion to farming.
In 1987, He married Michelle and they started their life together in Davenport. Their son Nolan was born in 1996 and was joined by Daughter Grace in 1999. He passed his passion for playing sports onto his children. He enjoyed coaching his kids and others in football, basketball and little league baseball. No rain was ever going to stop a game. He was a member of the Davenport Presbyterian Church and the Davenport Lions Club.
Bill had a wonderful smile and a great sense of humor. His family was very important to him both immediate and extended.
His wife Michelle, son Nolan, daughter Grace and parents Joe and Vi survive Bill. His siblings and spouses Jim (Diana), Randy (Robin), Kathi Kennedy (John) and nieces and nephews. Infant son Daniel precedes him in death.
