William (Bill) Randolph passed away on March 13, 2024. He was born to Wilma and James Randolph in Carthage, Missouri on May 24, 1941.
Bill moved with his parents to Albany, Oregon when he was two years old and lived there until he graduated from high school. He attended Northwest (College) University in Kirkland, Washington and Cascade College in Portland, Oregon. He eventually received a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from Washington State University.
He was married to Jacqualyn (Jacqui) Vaughn on June 29, 1962. They lived in Portland until moving to Coulee City where he taught 6th grade for three years.
In 1968 he received an invitation from Northwest College to teach the biological sciences which he did for the next forty years. While at Northwest he was instrumental in starting an elementary education major and also was involved in the starting of a nursing program. Both of these had been a dream of his from the beginning of his time there.
Bill took students on trips to Mexico, Zambia, Romania and the Philippines where they helped people to start using sustainable food raising.
Bill is survived by his wife Jacqui, his son Jeffrey (Rema), daughter Teresa Summerford (Tom), five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His brothers Roger and Gary, and sister Beverly Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Bill will be held Saturday March 23 at 11:00 in the Coulee City Assembly of God Church.
