William Morris Smith

William “Bill” Smith passed away August 23, 2016 in Davenport, WA. He was born on March 3, 1946, in Steuben, Illinois, to Marvin and Bertha (Heneger) Smith. Bill spent 22 years in the Army and retired from the service in 1989. He was stationed in Camp Zama, Japan, Camp Red Cloud, Korea, Grafenwoehr, Germany, Fort Bliss, TX, Fort Rucker, Alabama and Fort Ord, California. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, one son William Smith Jr. and one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife Kumiko of 46 years, one son Anthony (Sabrina) Smith and one daughter Cheri Smith, five grandchildren, Anthony, Ciarrah, Joselyn, Loren, and Nicholas Smith, brothers Jim and Bob Smith and two sisters Babe and Shirley along with several nieces and nephews. A military graveside service will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA September 30, 2016 at 2:15 pm. Memorials can be made by donor’s choice.
